Psychological evaluation is a process that includes a combination of clinical interview, completion of

written questionnaires, and use of a variety of standardized measures in one-on-one

appointments, and a feedback session to review the results together.  Depending upon the individual concerns and questions to

be answered by the evaluation,

appointments, and a feedback session to review the results together.  Depending upon the individual concerns and questions to

be answered by the evaluation, testing may include measures of:


• Cognitive Ability

• Academic Achievement and Learning Progress

• Attention and Executive Functioning

• Visual and Auditory Information Processing

• Problem Solving Strategies

• Motor and Visual Perceptual Abilities

• Memory

• Behavioral, Emotional, and Personality Functioning

There are a variety of reasons why someone would want to have a psychological evaluation completed, such as: 

  • Concerns about their attention and concentration skills
  • Difficulty meeting school or educational demands
  • Recent development of psychiatric symptoms
  • Abrupt or sudden changes in behaviors and emotion 
  • Adoption (Domestic and International

There are a variety of reasons why someone would want to have a psychological evaluation completed, such as:

Psychological evaluations and assessment can provide diagnostic clarity for a variety of psychiatric disorders, including ADHD, Anxiety and OCD, Depression, Personality Disorders, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia and Psychotic disorders, and more.

Testing consists of three parts: 

1. Initial Clinical Interview lasting 60 minutes or more to discuss current concerns or difficulties, background history, and other relevant information to inform the appropriate measures to be included in the evaluation. 


2. Testing Session typically lasting 3-5 hours in length. The specific measures chose

2. Testing Session typically lasting 3-5 hours in length. The specific measures chosen depend upon the concerns to be addressed. 


3. Feedback Session completed 2-4 weeks after the testing has been completed. All testing results and findings are reviewed together with the client and their family (if needed). A comprehensive written report is provided at this session.
